(Ed.'s Note: Texas State Rep. Rene Oliveira would probably be aghast that his bumper sticker would share top billing with one of Donald Trump's on the window of this Chevrolet van. We are aware that local conservative Democrats would make moderate Republicans up Nawth look like radicals.
Still, Oliveira, who considers himself a yellow-dog Democrat would probably say the owner of the van has the right to vote for whoever they want nationally as long as they vote for him here. We have heard Oliveira tell us the last election cycle that he would not be running again. But we've heard that before and he's still there. We hear that there are wedding plans afoot as soon as the lady in question has her former relationship dissolved. Perhaps that's what Rene needed to provide him a riason d'etre to leave politics.
Many elected officials like the Lucios and Oliveiras always say that even though they have been in office the better part of three decades, there are still some things they need to do before they leave the office. They never do and many have been pulled away from their positions clutching the brass ring with their stiff cold fingers. But when a voter [the guy in the van] pairs you up with Donald Trump, it may be a signal that it's time to go.)
