Associate District Court Judge Louis Sorola, who is also an ordained minister, is pleased to announce that on Friday, February 14, 2020, he will be performing weddings free of charge in the 404th District Courtroom located on the third floor of the courthouse, 974 East Harrison Street, Brownsville, Texas 78520. Also, you will need to obtain your marriage license from the District Clerk Sylvia Garza Perez’s Office located on the third floor of the former Wells Fargo Bank located at 835 East Levee Street, Brownsville, Texas. The license fee payable to the Cameron County Clerk is $82.00, which may not be waived per state law.

Your marriage license must be obtained at least three days before the wedding date, but may be obtained now, as it is good for 90 days.

A judge’s wedding fees normally range from $150 to $300, but will be waived by Associate Judge Louis Sorola on Valentine’s Day.
