Just when you think you've heard everything here comes City of Brownsville commissioner Jessica Tetreau with yet another foible.

At tonight's meeting of the city commission she is going to issue a proclamation honoring a man who helped her pick up the contents of her purse after she dropped it while at the doors of a local HEB grocery store.
According to the effusive commish, while everyone else at the store laughed or snickered at her predicament, one Armando Sosa "came to my rescue" assuring me that it was ok because accidents happen and he was there to help.
We've covered the exploits of this intrepid commissioner before, but we're sure a simple thank you at the time would suffice. But, no, heading the proclamation list along with elder abuse prevention month and an update on Arboviral mosquitoes, she has listed a proclamation to honor the polite young man who she discovered is "the son of one of Brownsville's very own EMTs, (which explains his exceptional parenting skills)...So today, I have arranged for a very special surprise,,,his parents are bringing him to city hall for a very special proclamation for his very special heart and display of courage and kindness."
We'd comment on the seemingly trivial use of the public's time and of the city commission if we thought it would make a difference, but we have decided that some people are just beyond help.
