The halls of the Cameron County Courthouse are rife with rumor that Jeremy Sorrel, who pulled out of the Cameron County District Attorney's race and was running as a Republican, is said to be aiming for her seat in 2018.
And there is also talk afoot that Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Pl. 2 Jonathan Gracia will have Javier Reyna, currently captain at the Cameron County Sheriff Department, as his opponent if he seeks reelection. If Reyna garners the base support of his boss, Omar Lucio, Gracia may not have it as easy as his supporters may think.
So far, those are the potential candidates for those two of the positions that are up for grabs in 2018. We're sure there will be more and we'll keep you posted on others when they surface.
