CASTRO'S KOOKY APPROACH FOR REELECTION TO THE BISD

(Ed.'s Note: We ran into former Brownsville Independent School District trustee Erasmo Castro and he handed us one of his novel election pushcards: a cookie with his name and logo on it in icing. Castro, known to work outside the box in many different ways, is facing Daniela Lopez-Valdez for Place 5 currently held by Laura Reyes-Perez, who is on the November 3 ballot for Cameron County District Clerk. Will this decidedly kooky strategy endear the former BISD trustee to the voters so that they will pull the lever for Erasmo? If it does, he would have had his cookie and eaten it, too.)
