We have just received word of the passing of a good and dear friend and family physician Dr. Jesus Antonio Caquias from complications arising from COVID-19. He was in critical condition at Valley Regional Hospital. His wife, Carmela, was also reported hospitalized with the virus.Dr. Caquias, a native of Puerto Rico, grew up in the Bronx in New York City before acquiring his medical degree and coming to practice here, in his wife's hometown.
An author of several books and pamphlets on religion, he was a devoted follower of God and often sponsored events to advance His Word. He often provided medical attention to many patients despite their inability to pay for his services.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and will always remember him as a devout man and a friend of the common people. Peace be with him and his.
