Today, after the general disapproval of the BISD administration's response and attempted a priori censorship from BISD Superintendent Dr. Rene Gutierrez to Rivera High Class President Daniela V. against kneeling during graduation exercises at Sams Stadium in support of the the Black Lives Matter movement, he issued a self-serving announcement saying he respects students' free speech, disavowing his actions, and calling some statements, including Daniela's, on social media incorrect.

He also claimed a PUB power outage blackened out YouTube coverage of the event and used the BISD spin machine to disseminate his version of events and try to call her a liar. In the interest of fair play, here is her response:
