NOW THAT CARLOS THE DICTATOR IS GONE, GILBERT'S BACK

(Ed.'s Note: We heard about the hanging up of the Gilbert Hinojosa portrait that had not been put up in the Cameron County Commissioners Court until after Carlos Cascos and his hand-picked successor Pete Sepulveda had left office.

We said it reminded us of Pablo Picasso who ordered that his painting Guernica would not return to Spain until dictator Francisco Franco – who permitted the Nazis to bomb the Basque city of Guernica – had died, the painting would not return to Spain.

Well, one of our seven readers said that when he saw the Hinojosa portrait at the county courthouse, he snapped a photo and sent it to us. Gilbert is back with his brand of county government. The same source said that Hinojosa was walking into the room and saw it and asked: "And who, may I ask, created this monstrosity?""You did," our source said he answered.
The similarity, one has to admit, is uncanny, isn't it? (Click to enlarge)

And speaking of missing portraits, there is not one of three-times elected Carlos Cascos, or of Pete Sepulveda, for that matter, who Carlos appointed. Will Carlos wait until Eddie Treviño, Gilberto's protege, leaves office that Carlos will permit his to go up? And will commissioners wait until they see whether Sepulveda clears his name of the recent indictment before they put his portrait on the wall of fame?)
