IS THE LINDA SALAZAR JP 2-1 CAMPAIGN GOING FLAT?
(Ed.'s Note: Will the voters in the JP 2-1 race finally impose term limits on incumbent Linda Salazar? After 15 years in office, turning her court into a wedding mill, violating just about every judicial canon from sitting on cases involving her family, hiring her sister to be on her staff against Cameron County's nepotism law, and lining her pockets with $250 wedding fees, the voters may have had enough.
Linda was indignant that one of her challengers, Cyndi Hinojosa, had the temerity to call her out on hiring her half sister, Beatriz Munivez, as a violation of Cameron County nepotism rules.
blasphemous Cyndi. But the truth is the truth. That's Munivez wearing her half sister's T-shirt when she worked under Salazar.
In order not to fire her, the commissioners court transferred her to JP 2-3 Mary Esther Sorola's court down the hall. Will Salazar deny her own sister? Therein lies the road to perdition.
She has two credible challengers in Hinojosa and Fred Arias. Will the voters hand her an air pump and deflate her political career?)
