In 1997, I was court appointed to represent the ex-husband of Dora Guzman, Conrado Vega, whom I was defending from having to pay lifetime child support because their son was turning 18 and had joined the military and would no longer be living with his mother, Dora Guzman. Judge Gilberto Rosas denied the motion. Since my representation of her ex-husband, Dora Guzman has hated me and has tried to remove me from the Cameron County Indigent Defense list of court-
appointed attorneys and has retaliated against me. Her videos are further evidence of retaliation. The false allegations made by Dora Guzman occurred in 2018.

More than a year later, a week before early voting, she released these videos to hurt my campaign. If this was about justice, she would have done it in 2018, not now. Ask yourself, who benefits from the release of these false allegations at this time?
I was hired by a unanimous vote of the district court judges, and a thorough review of all of Dora Guzman’s allegations was made by Human Resources, the Cameron County Civil Division of Lawyers, and the eight district judges. I was exonerated by Human Resources and the Board of Judges. If any allegation made by Dora Guzman were true, I would not be an associate judge today.
