(Ed.'s Note: After a month an a half after a suspect was caught on surveillance cameras as he strolled into the Ibissa Lounge Bar, 3101 Pablo Kisel Blvd. July 9 - and with cleaning people around - nonchalantly carried out a $1,000 sound mixer that did not belong to him, he has finally facing charges.
Jose Andres Barrientos was arrested August 20 and booked into the Brownsville Police Dept. jail on Jackson Street and charged with Theft, a Class A misdemeanor. The owner of the bar, who gave the police the name of the suspect, the surveillance videos, and the receipt showing he paid $1,000 for the mixer had grown exasperated.
How could it be that they could not find the alleged thief, Barrientos, AKA "Jandres," a DJ. who has an Instagram account that receives hundreds of hits and lets his followers know where he is performing?, he asked.
Not long ago, the top honchos in the department said that had a lead on his whereabouts and told media reps an arrest was imminent. Now, apparently, they arrest of suspect indicates they carried forth on their assertions that action would be forthcoming.

Let's hope the victim is granted some justice when the case makes its way though the courts.
