This week has not been a good one for City of Brownsville and Brownsville Independent School employees.
At least one staff member of each of these entities was said to have been arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
The city employee was Municipal Court deputy court clerk Patricia A. Rivas who was arrested Thursday, April 25.
She was charged with DWI, a Class A Misdemeanor. She was released from the Municipal Jail on Jackson Street in Brownsville. One report indicates that she was involved in an accident and the DPS was called.
The BISD employee, interim purchasing director, is said to be Delia Rodriguez, and she was charged with the same offense by the Department of Public Safety Wednesday.
The rumor mill at the BISD is that Rodriguez was arrested by DPS troopers April 24 after 11 p.m. as she left Cobbleheads on Central Blvd. Rodriguez did not disclose her place of employment on the arrest report.
She was released on bond from Rucker-Carrizles corrections center in Olmito.
