Sometimes inside tips don't come straight from the horse's mouth. They come straight from the mare's mouth:

TEXAS SOUTHMOST COLLEGE TRUSTEE, DOWNTOWN ENTREPRENEUR AND LAWYER TREY MENDEZ IS RUNNING FOR MAYOR OF BROWNSVILLE!!!

By popular demand, Mendez will challenge Machiavellian Mayor Tony "El Mocho" Martinez who has the audacity to seek a third term after he has ripped off both the city taxpayers and utility ratepayers for millions of dollars on ridiculous real estate deals and exotic trips to a variety of countries, the property purchases and the faraway junkets producing nothing for the community except ludicrous expense accounts.

Besides the credible information that Mendez will vie against the despised Martinez, two anecdotal incidents suggest that the popular politico has made the commitment. He was next in-line to chair the TSC board, but he nominated Adela Garza for a second term, unanimously confirmed, citing that he could not justifiably serve in good conscience because he had impending compromises.

In a Facebook appearance with Brownsville Independent School District Board candidate Erasmo Castro, a friend questioned if Mendez was going to host a pachanga for Castro at his new establishment. Ruben O'Bell, Eddie Lucio III's chief of staff and Mendez's golfing partner, wondered aloud if Castro would be hosting a pachanga for Mendez.

The McHale Report published its hit list that BISD Trustees Joe Rodriguez, Cesar Lopez and Carlos Elizondo, Mayor Martinez and Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino have to go. They are cut from the same cloth as federal prisoners Abel Limas, Armando Villalobos and Conrado Cantu.

Elizondo epitomizes this riff-raff as he recently became president of the BISD school board despite the fact that he is facing eleven felony counts, was dismissed as Brownsville's fire chief and ultimately terminated as a firefighter.

"We need dramatic change and we need dramatic change now!" said Scott Steinbeck, The McHale Report's managing editor. "But we aren't going to effect immediate change if we don't encourage candidates with sterling credentials to go mano-a-mano with these blackguards.

"In the case of Trey, we have a champion. He is humble and has never forgotten his Brownsville roots. Martinez still carries that arrogance of his Harlingen upbringing and never stops bragging about the expensive foreign wines he buys by the case.

"But it's also about substance. As part of the Fabulous Four who saved TSC despite Julieta Garcia's best efforts to destroy the community college with Martinez sympathetic to her dastardly cause, Mendez's tireless efforts toward downtown revitalization evidenced by the opening of his Dodici Pizza & Wine as well as the renovation of several historical buildings proves that we have a horse we can saddle and cross the finish line first. Trey is synonymous with hope while Martinez has exhibited by his despicable actions that beyond a shadow of a doubt he is utterly hopeless.

"We anxiously await Trey's announcement, so that any lingering doubts that this tip may not be true will vanish. Trey must formalize his crusade, summon his Christian soldiers and we will wage the noble war to make sure that once and for all Brownsville realizes its potential."
