Q & A: BISD BOARD SHUFFLE
Elizondo, the embattled former Brownsville fire chief, has become the president of the Brownsville Independent School District Board of Trustees by virtue of former board president Cesar Lopez stepping down from the position.
How did the bully Elizondo ever become president?
In a letter to other board members, Lopez announced in early July that he had decided to step down from the leadership position. Under board policy Elizondo, who was then serving as board vice president, became president.
What a disgrace! What else do you have for me?
Both men were elected to the board in 2014 and said they plan to run for re-election in November.
Lopez was appointed to the board in 2013 and elected to his seat in 2014. In 2013 he had no children. Today he has two infant sons. The older, Cesar Adrian, had his fourth birthday Monday. The younger, Mateo, is 1 1/2.
What was Lopez's statement for resigning? He didn't mentioned that he was compromised beacause he is a member of the Buy Board which allows him and his blackguards to approve million-dollar contracts without having to endure the hassle of the bidding process?
"'Obviously that takes up a lot of my time,' he said of the responsibilities of being a father. 'These are very exciting times for us.'"
Have we previously elected a school board president that the Cameron County District Attorney's Office was vigorously trying to prove was nothing more than a common criminal? What is the latest on his legal problems?
Elizondo is facing charges of theft by a public servant and misapplication of fiduciary property stemming from allegations he stole $8,000 from the Brownsville Firefighters Association through improper ATM withdrawals while he was association president.
Aren't there more charges regarding this derelict?
Also, a Cameron County grand jury in early July indicted Elizondo on 11 counts of computer security breach on allegations he illegally accessed the Emergency Reporting System for the Brownsville Fire Department without the city’s consent. He has not been arraigned on those charges.
And what does this arrogant politico have to say about his situation that completely undermines his ability to be a role model to our children?
"'I’m innocent until proven guilty,' Elizondo said of the charges. 'My situation with the courts is completely another matter. I believe in the system.'"
