MISSED THE FIRST TIME, VANDALS GET CLERK SYLVIA MONDAY

(Ed'.s Note: Following this weekend's defacing of campaign signs of various political candidates at prominent intersections of the city, the one whose signs hadn't been touched was that of current Cameron County Clerk Sylvia Garza Perez, who is running for reelection.

Well, she didn't have to wait long. This time the vandals came back and adorned her sign that is posted across the Main Library on Central Blvd. Before they got her sign, which was placed above another 4 x 8 and made it more difficult to reach, vandals had defaced those belonging to JPs Mary Esther Sorola and Jonathan Gracia as well as those of several judicial candidates.

We don't know how long these brazen graffiti vandals will continue, but it's apparent that they don't fear local police much to strike in well-traveled thoroughfares in the city. Candidates have already started replacing their defaced signs at those locations. At about $30 a pop, it adds up to real money real quick.)
