DEFACING POLITICAL SIGNS, THE UNKINDEST CUT OF ALL

(Ed.'s Note: The graffiti vandals were working overtime this weekend as can be seen in the photos sent to us by some of our seven readers. The vandalism was widespread, some of it happening on Pablo Kisel and Morrison roads, off FM 802 and the expressway, and in front of the Main Library on Central Blvd., all heavily traveled thoroughfares

There appears to be no clear motive for the defaced signs, except maybe the perverse pleasure of the perpetrators to make the candidates spend more money to replace them and pay for the manpower to do it. At about $30 bucks a pop, the vandalism can add up in a hurry.

It's hard enough to get good people to run for office, and with the added cost of replacing their signs, it just got a little harder.)
